Storing folding car steps and everyday dog essentials — product illustration

Good storage makes everyday dog equipment easier to use and easier to inspect. Give each item a clean, dry place and check it before the next use rather than assuming it is ready because it was fine last time.

After using folding car steps

  1. Move your dog to a safe, supervised place before folding the equipment.
  2. Follow the supplied folding instructions, keeping fingers, paws and loose fabric away from moving joints.
  3. Wipe away dirt using the permitted care method.
  4. Let the frame and fabric dry fully before enclosing them in storage.
  5. Inspect joints, treads, attachment strap and fastenings.

The Folding Dog Car Steps measure approximately 47 × 40 × 12 cm folded. Measure your intended storage area and allow space to lift them out without trapping the strap.

Secure equipment during travel

Stow the folded frame so it cannot move around the vehicle. Keep exits, driver controls and restraint points clear. Do not leave equipment loose beside your dog where movement could interfere with their travel arrangement.

Keep blankets and covers dry

Fold only when fully dry, following the care label. Store clean fabric away from damp floors and inspect it before reuse. Check that blanket edges do not trail across walking routes when you set the space up again.

Position foam steps consistently

Keep foam steps away from moisture and follow the supplied storage instructions. Before putting them back beside the sofa, check that the cover is correctly fitted and the supporting floor is stable. If furniture has moved, repeat the height and footprint checks.

Before the next outing

  • Check there is enough level space behind the car.
  • Fully extend and secure the frame as instructed.
  • Check stability and the approach before your dog uses it.
  • Supervise both entering and leaving the vehicle.

If the product is damaged or no longer suits your vehicle or dog, stop using it. Our car-step fit guide covers the measurements to check before choosing or changing a setup.
